How to play A Plague Tale: Innocence on Mac

A Plague Tale: Innocence by Asobo Studio is a stealth game with survival horror elements. The game, set during the Middle Ages, tells the story of two children, a fifteen-year-old girl named Amicia and her five-year-old brother Hugo, who has been sick his whole life. One day, the French Inquisition attempts to capture Hugo (we’ll leave it to the player to discover what such a serious organization wants from an ill child). Thankfully, the children manage to escape, but, of course, this means they cannot return home and must flee. The Inquisition is not the only thing they have to avoid, however – it is the 14th century, and the Black Death is currently decimating Europe’s population. And so, rats, carriers of the deadly plague, must also be avoided at all costs. But the rats can be used to the player’s advantage as well. As children, neither Amicia nor Hugo have any hope of winning in a fight against a grown man – such as a guard they can’t sneak past – but a horde of diseased rats does. In a way, A Plague Tale: Innocence can be described as a puzzle game, too, as avoiding the enemies using the tools at children’s disposal – a sling, fire-starting sulfur stones, rats that can be directed, and others – is very much a puzzle in its own right.
The game is available on Windows, PS4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X/S, as well as Nintendo Switch. But even though it is not available on OSX, it is still possible to play A Plague Tale: Innocence on Mac – read the guide below to learn how.
