How to play Control on Mac

Remedy Entertainment had brought us great games in the past, such as Max Payne and Alan Wake. But with Control, they’ve outdone themselves. The game won numerous awards, most notably IGN‘s Game of the Year award for the year 2019 – the year when Control released. The game received an incredible amount of praise from the critics, who fell in love with its lore, art style, and combat. So, what is Control like?
The first thing you should know is that Control is an action-adventure game with fast-paced combat which is played from a 3rd person view. It features a large world map for the player to explore in a nonlinear fashion – completing story missions will unlock more of the world, but the player is free to explore the parts they’ve already unlocked and complete the sidequests available there at their own pace and order of choosing. While not exactly an open-world game, Control does give the player plenty of freedom and flexibility in how they play.
Even more interesting is the game’s lore, eerie, unsettling, and weird. Right in the middle of New York, there is a featureless skyscraper, looking modern if Brutalist in style. And yet it is known as the Oldest House. Pretty much the whole game is set inside that skyscraper, and don’t worry, physical limitations are not an issue here. You see, within the Oldest House resides Federal Bureau of Control, an organization dedicated to study paranormal events and objects. Such a structure effortlessly defies the laws of physics, and it is up to you to uncover the mysteries hidden there.
Available for PS 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows, Control is sadly unavailable on MacOS. There are thankfully solutions to this problem, and you can learn what they are by reading this article.
