Pac-Man Museum+ is a compilation of 14 different games from the Pac-Man franchise. Those range from the original 1980 arcade game all the way up to Pac-Man 256, the 2016 title which is the most recent one in this compilation. Pac-Man Museum+ is not just a launcher for these games, however – it adds some meta-game mechanics, too. For example, not all games are available to the player at the start. To unlock them, the players will have to familiarize themselves with the other ones first. In a nod to the original arcade machines, arcade games require coins to play. Coins are an in-game currency that is earned simply by playing the games and completing challenges.
The process of selecting the game to play is not a simple menu, either. Rather, Pac-Man Museum+ presents itself as a “virtual arcade”, a 3D room with multiple arcade cabinets in them. The games can be played by interacting with the cabinets. But the real purpose of this virtual arcade room is to provide the player with yet another meta-game incentive to play the games. Playing the games will occasionally reward you with furniture for the room, and you can purchase it with coins as well. Collectible figurines can be displayed in the room as well – obtaining them is yet another coin sink for the players.
Pac-Man Museum+ released on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows. With the help of our guide, you will be able to play Pac-Man Museum+ on Mac as well.
