Air Missions: HIND is a flight simulator game developed by 3Division. Make no mistake, though, this game will not offer you a slow, relaxing experience of flying passenger aircraft. This is a combat sim, packed with action and missions to complete. This game is also much narrower in scope, than, say, Microsoft Flight Simulator or DCS World. In Air Missions: HIND, you will be piloting one specific aircraft: Mi-24 Hind assault helicopter (three other helicopters can be unlocked by purchasing the deluxe edition of the game). But some might argue that it’s better to be great at one thing than to be OK at many. Focusing entirely on Soviet helicopters means that the game simulates them really well. You can choose to equip your helicopter with a range of different weapons, all of which exist in real life and have been recreated in faithful manner. These include UPK-23 gun pods, FAB bombs, MCLOS and SACLOS missiles, and several rockets. Don’t feel too intimidated, though. The Redress of Mira is a linear adventure game developed by Tonguç Bodur. The main focus of the game is to provide an atmospheric and immersive experience. That said, the gameplay was not neglected either: the game includes puzzle, platforming, and combat sections. The story of the game is focused on Mira, an elf whose clan has been devastated in a recent attack. It is told through books scattered around the world. Some of these books tell the story from Mira’s own perspective, while others are focused on the mercenary who carried out the attack, and the ruthless baron who has ordered it. By not telling the story directly to the players, The Redress of Mira encourages them to wander around and admire the scenery, and there’s certainly plenty to admire. The environments in this game are absolutely gorgeous. The mountainous landscapes are already quite scenic on its own, but it is the occasional man-made structure that truly makes them shine. These medieval-style mills, villages, and castles certainly enhance the “traditional fantasy” experience this game was going for. Conan Exiles is a survival open-world game made by Funcom. Though marketed as a multiplayer game, Conan Exiles can also be played in singleplayer, or in co-op mode with a small group of friends. The first challenge to conquer in this game is simply staying alive. This is no trivial task; you need to eat and to drink, to dress appropriately for the temperature, and to have shelter from the elements. Once you’re comfortable in your survival ability, you will be able to explore the world and see what it has to offer. In the open world of Conan Exiles, there are many different biomes. Though a part of this land is covered in lush forests, many areas are much less hospitable. The frozen mountains located in the north, the scorching-hot dunes in the south, and the swamp in the east would be deadly for an unprepared adventurer, as would many other places. Once you’ve had your share of adventuring, return to your base of operations. With resources you’ve found on your journeys, you will be able to expand it. Aim Lab, developed and published by Statespace, is not precisely a game (though some will consider it one). It is, first and foremost, a training tool designed to improve one’s skill at first person shooters. Although it can be played for fun, and includes competitive elements such as the leaderboard, that is not the primary attraction. Aim Lab includes a wide range of shooting exercises that are designed to train different FPS skills, such as the ability to quickly hit many different targets, the ability to track a moving target, and many others. But this is more than just a collection of exercises. Aim Lab analyzes your performance to identify your current abilities and determine your weakest skills. This information can be viewed on your dashboard, but Aim Lab will use it as well, giving you tailored exercises. Aim Lab is available on Windows, iOS, and Android. Of course, the mobile version is useless for Mac users, as aiming with a touchscreen is very different from aiming with a keyboard and a mouse (or a controller, perhaps). Knights of Honor II: Sovereign is a grand strategy game developed by Black Sea Games. Set in the medieval period, the game features the European continent, North Africa, and certain parts of Asia. This is not coincidental: only areas known to medieval Europeans are present in the game. Unlike many games in the genre, Knights of Honor II: Sovereign is not turn-based. Everything in the game, including combat, takes place in real time. Thankfully, the designers made an attempt to streamline the game’s numerous systems, making them accessible and easy to understand. You wouldn’t have to stare at the screen for hours just to figure out what’s going on. But streamlining is not the same as simplifying. Though certainly made for players new to the genre, Knights of Honor II: Sovereign is not a shallow game. The game’s mechanics – be it combat, diplomacy, or economy – all have depth to them; there are certainly many cerebral decisions that need to be made. This game is a Windows exclusive, which is obviously disappointing if you’re using an Apple PC instead. But we have some good news for you, too. POLYGON is a multiplayer shooter game developed and published by Redaster Studio. Focused on team deathmatch, the game features two teams of up to 16 players, meaning 32 players total. Having 32 simultaneous players is not as easy as just letting them all connect to a single server. To make sure everyone has a good experience, game maps have to be designed with this number in mind. POLYGON does not disappoint in that regard; the game’s expansive maps ensure that all players have space for tactical approaches and other maneuvers. This is especially important considering that tactics is a major part of the game. To succeed, you need to select the right weapon for the job and consider your selection of skills. Beyond tactics specific to this game, you would also do well to follow more universal tactical laws: take cover whenever possible, always prefer having the high ground, and so on. Officially, POLYGON is available only on Microsoft Windows. Not surprising, especially considering that it’s an indie game that’s still in development. Speed Limit is a fast-paced action game developed by Gamechuck. It is hard to say which genre the game belongs to; it does not stick to a single gameplay formula. Indeed, that is the part of the attraction. Done in a retro art style and intentionally imitating arcade games of the past, Speed Limit transitions between several game genres popular during that era. It starts as a side-scrolling shooter, becomes a top-down driving game after that, and switches genres several times after that as well. We shouldn’t spoil too much; after all, quickly thinking and adapting to the situation at hand is a part of the game. A part that you wouldn’t experience as well if you knew what lies ahead. So go ahead and experience the game for yourself. The game will throw different challenges at you, all of them requiring you to both think fast and act fast. High intensity is one of the few constants in this game, with the aesthetic being another. Speed Limit officially supports these platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows. OS X is not supported, but that doesn’t mean you should give up on the game. PC Building Simulator is a simulation game developed by Claudiu Kiss and The Irregular Corporation. The name of the game is completely accurate and to the point: this game is focused on simulating the experience of building personal computers. PC Building Simulator features two main game modes (and one tutorial mode). The first one is the Career mode. In this mode, the player is put in charge of a PC repair and building business.
