It’s not all perfect, though. The story of the game has proven to be polarizing – the writers took some creative liberties not everyone would appreciate – and the game’s world is unfortunately is not as open as many would like, either. But aside from these minor issues, Immortals of Aveum is a solid FPS title, fun and innovative at the same time. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows PC. Thanks to procedurally generated environments, randomized upgrades, and multiple playable characters, the game has a decent amount of replayability. The easiest mode, where you have to press four keys, is already pretty challenging, but you can ramp it up all the way to eight keys. So, the skill ceiling in this game is very high. The library of songs is also fairly impressive; hundreds of tracks are available in the base game, and hundreds more can be purchased as DLCs. All things considered, it’s a solid rhythm game, though not a beginner-friendly one. DJMAX RESPECT V is available on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows. However, Last Command radically reinvents this timeless gameplay formula; it adds dodging, boss fights, skills, and even a story mode. Now, you might be wondering, how does this even work? During boss fights, your screen will be filled with complex patterns of projectiles, which you have to avoid. This can often be challenging, so you need to make use of your skills. Alongside dodging, which we mentioned before, there are skills that can temporarily grant you off-grid movement, reduce the length of the snake, spawn food items, and many others. To damage the boss, you need to collect food (known as Data Points in this game); do it enough times and you’ll be able to claim victory! As you can see, this is quite an innovative game.
