Bear With Me is a point and click adventure game developed by Exordium Games. Done entirely in black and white, this noir-styled game offers a narrative filled with humor, mystery, and horror. Bear With Me: The Lost Robots is the most recent episode of the game; this time, it’s a prequel to the other three episodes, and can also be played independently. Paper City is filled with many unusual inhabitants. Here, humans live alongside animated toys, sentient animals, and robots. Many of you will notice that this game sounds awfully similar to XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2. But in truth, Xenonauts 2 seeks to imitate the original X-COM games from the nineties. It is more complex than modern XCOM games – you will have to manage many small details like your soldiers’ ammunition – but those dedicated enough to understand the mechanics will find them fun and very satisfying. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a metroidvania game developed by ArtPlay. In this fantasy world, you will take on a role of Miriam, a cursed woman whose body is slowly turning into a crystal. Her only path to salvation lays within a demonic castle, and so, she has no choice but to venture in. Not unexpectedly, its inhabitants will not welcome Miriam with warm tea and a room to stay. Combat will be much more common than any peaceful interaction. But with hundreds of weapons and offensive magic spells – which can also be upgraded- the fights will not get boring despite their ubiquity. Enemies are not the only obstacle awaiting Miriam in this foreboding castle, either. Many platforming challenges must be overcome simply to get around, while the patient, observant explorer will be able to discover many hidden items. All in all, those features are to be expected from a game in this genre. Instead of trying to introduce new mechanics, or spice things up by mixing in elements from some other genre, ArtPlay attempted – quite successfully – to simply deliver a good metroidvania experience. This game is available on PS4 and Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows. To faithfully recreate them, a wealth of content was added; for example, there are 23 planets for you to explore – full of structures, characters, and sidequests. Notably, the world of the game is fully open, and will not force you to conform to the rigid structure of the movies. Once a planet is unlocked, you can travel there at any moment. Similarly, the game allows you to play as any character you want – there’s hundreds to select from – even when it doesn’t exactly make sense. Overall, this is easily the best entry in the LEGO Star Wars series. Unfortunately, even though it released on many platforms (including Windows, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch) this game is not available on Mac.
