Aliens: Dark Descent is a squad-based, single-player action game set in the Alien franchise. It was developed by Tindalos Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment. The game takes place in 2198, about 20 years after the events in Alien 3. The plot is focused on an area called the Tantalus Base, where a deadly Xenomorph and alien outbreak has caused trouble for a Marine Squad, who are left to figure out how to deal with the outbreak. The gameplay features that of a top-down squad-based tactical action game that makes the player a Commander, commanding the squad. A total of 5 classes, such as the Tecker, Sergeant, Recon, Medic, and Gunner, combine to make an undefeatable squad against an opponent. Overall, Aliens: Dark Descent is a tactical, terrifying, and terrific game that captures the aesthetic, atmosphere, and claustrophobic dread of the film. Arknights is a mobile tower defense game developed by Hypergryph, a Chinese game company. The “towers” you place down in this game are actually characters; you can obtain more of them using gacha mechanics. Just like in any tower defense game, the goal is to stop enemies from reaching your base. To accomplish this goal, you are given two types of characters: ranged and melee. Ranged characters function more-or-less like traditional towers; they are placed on elevated ground where enemies cannot reach. Melee characters, meanwhile, directly block the enemies’ path; although this is powerful, they also take far more damage. As a result, melee characters should be paired with ranged support characters to be effective. The story of Arknights revolves around a mineral called originium. This wondrous substance allows humans to use magic, however, prolonged contact with the material is always fatal. The Rhodes Island organization seeks to cure those poisoned by originium, however, as many world governments despise this dangerous substance, they will face armed resistance. Jurassic World Evolution is a management game developed and published by Frontier Developments. It challenges the player to construct and maintain a dinosaur theme park – with real dinosaurs. Though entertaining visitors is the primary purpose of the park – and the main way to generate money – it also contains multiple research facilities. You will have to recruit teams of scientists and send them to excavate dinosaur fossils all around the globe; researching these fossils will allow you to resurrect new types of dinosaurs. There are also other scientific objectives to accomplish. For example, you will be able to genetically modify these giant creatures to make them less aggressive, and establish a breeding program so you can sell excess dinosaurs to other interested parties. Jurassic World Evolution began development in 2016 and released two years later, in 2018. On release, the game was available on three platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The evil wizard, Gargamel, has found yet another way to annoy the Smurfs. This time, his plan to harm the blue creatures involves spreading an malicious plant appropriately called Vileaf. It is toxic and harms other plant life around it, but even more concerningly, it has the ability to capture smurfs inside of it. Papa Smurf, the village leader, soon became aware of this threat. He tasked Handy Smurf with making The Smurfizer; this invention allows smurfs to heal poisoned plants, but also to jump higher, to dive, to glide, and to perform other moves useful in a platforming game. Four iconic characters were given a Smurfizer: Chef Smurf, Hefty Smurf, Brainy Smurf, and the Smurfette. Now they must venture into the forest, destroy all Vileaf plants, and put an end to Gargamel’s evil scheme. This game can be played on PS4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
