Insect Swarm is a top-down shooter developed by Parallel Portal and published by NPC Entertainment. A mining planet was suddenly overrun with insect-like aliens, who slaughtered anyone they could see. Thankfully, most of the population was safely evacuated, but you couldn’t make it in time and were left behind. This would be quite a tragic situation if you were anyone else, but as a pilot of a massive flying mech, you do not feel particularly threatened. Instead, you intend to give these insects the taste of hell. As a player, you’re free to fly anywhere on the planet, slaughtering bugs as you go; however, you also have certain story objectives to fulfill. Should you choose to follow these objectives, you’ll fight several powerful bosses, then blow up the entire planet to fully eliminate the threat. Alternatively, you can simply keep fighting indefinitely; since there’s no level cap, you can upgrade your ship indefinitely as well. CrossOver, developed by CodeWeavers, is a Windows compatibility layer for macOS, ChromeOS, and Linux. For MacOS versions prior to OS X El Capitan 10.11 you will need to create a bootable Windows USB.
