Bodycam is a multiplayer FPS game developed and published by Reissad Studio. Powered by Unreal 5, the game showcases the power of modern technology by looking exactly like real life; you’d be amazed how detailed and realistic everything is. If you’re smart and willing to adapt, however, this challenge also represents an opportunity. This game is not for everyone; some people might find that the experience is too realistic for their tastes. Soulmask is a survival sandbox game developed by CampFire Studio. It starts like many other games in the genre do, by throwing you out into the wilderness without much in terms of guidance or protection. Naturally, you will then attempt to lift yourself out of this state of abject poverty by picking up sticks and stones. But you will not be doing manual work forever. There’s no automation in this game, but there is an immersive alternative: you can create your own tribe. You can recruit NPCs to become tribe members, who can be assigned to do specific tasks. This system is very flexible, allowing most things in the game to be “automated” in this way. But NPCs also have skills which determine how good they will be at any given task, so you don’t want to recruit just about anyone! Exploration in this game is decent as well; it features a hand-crafted world with beautiful vistas, rustic villages, and mysterious ruins. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is an action-adventure game developed by Ninja Theory. It is a sequel to Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice; the story continues from where the first game left off. Our protagonist – a Celtic warrior woman by the name of Senua – has just returned from Helheim, and has accepted that it’s not possible to bring her dead lover back to life. But that does not mean that her journey is over; Senua now intends to walk the path of revenge. And oh boy, she is going to be good at it! Much of your time in Hellblade II will be spent in combat, viciously fighting the Norsemen with your trusty sword. You generally won’t grow in power throughout the game; most abilities will be available to you right from the start. Despite this, the combat shouldn’t get boring. Your skillset may remain the same, but new enemies will be introduced constantly. Fittingly for an adventure game, Hellblade II also features many environmental puzzles, providing you a much-needed respite from brutal fighting. Ghost of Tsushima is an action game developed by Sucker Punch Productions. It depicts the first Mongol invasion of Japan, a historical event that occurred in the 13th century. The first place Mongols targeted was a small island called Tsushima, which is located far away from the Japanese mainland, but close to the Korean peninsula. This is where the game takes place. You will be playing as Jin Sakai, a local samurai on a quest to halt the invasion and prevent the Mongols from ever reaching the mainland. However, the Japanese army stationed on the island suffers a devastating defeat, so Jin is forced to employ guerilla tactics to pursue his objectives. Since you can’t fight many people at once, you’ll have to split enemy groups by using firecrackers and smoke bombs. You can also kill them from afar using either a bow, kunai, or explosives, and even make them fight each other by confusing them with hallucinogenic poison darts. Ghost of Tsushima originally released on PS4 in 2020, and was ported to PS5 a year later. In 2024, the game also came to PC. Homeworld 3 is a sci-fi RTS game developed by Blackbird Interactive. It’s not quite the same as most RTS games, though; your units – space ships – are able to move in all three dimensions, and you don’t really have to build a base. Instead, you have a massive, slow-moving mothership which can store resources and produce units. I suppose we should congratulate Night Elves on the unexpected success of their space program. The game’s singleplayer campaign is only 13 missions long, and will take you about eight hours to complete. Although there’s some replayability involved – all missions have Normal and Hard variants – it definitely should’ve been longer. Multiplayer, meanwhile, offers two modes, “Skirmish” and “War Games”. Skirmish is exactly what you would expect; it’s a PvP game mode. War Games, on the other hand, is more interesting. It’s a cooperative mode in which players have to compete a series of random objectives while defending against computer-controlled enemies. Currently, Homeworld 3 is available exclusively on Microsoft Windows, which means there’s no official way to play this game on Mac. Little Kitty, Big City is an adventure game developed and published by Double Dagger Studio. It is a very relaxing game without any violence or danger. Playing as a black cat, you fall from a window of a high-rise apartment. Getting back there would be tricky, and – since you play as a cat – you are not even sure you want to. So you decide to explore the city instead! You main objective is to find fish to eat, but you can also find other animals to befriend, search for collectible hats, and engage in very cat-like side activities (like sitting in a basket full of laundry). When it comes to gameplay, you will be mostly exploring and doing platforming puzzles. None of them are particularly challenging, but that’s fitting for a game one would play to relax. Little Kitty, Big City is a much smaller game than, oh, Stray, but it’s still quite fun and worth playing. It’s rather unfortunate that the developers didn’t bother releasing a macOS version… we can’t blame them, no, but it’s still sad.
