Sea of Stars is a roleplaying game with pixel graphics and turn-based combat. It was developed and published by Sabotage Studio, a Quebec-based team of game developers. Aiming to be a classic RPG, Sea of Stars combines exploration, combat, puzzles, and, of course, storytelling. Traversing the world never feels boring; you will be climbing, jumping, and swimming more often than simply walking. The combat is similarly engaging. Though it is turn-based for the most part, many moves require precise reflex-based inputs. For example, one of the characters throws a boomerang, which must be deflected in time to strike multiple times. To break the pace, fighting is interspersed with various types of puzzles. The story is fairly typical for the genre, exploring archetypal RPG tropes of adventure and friendship. That’s not to say it’s bland, though; quite the opposite, it’s emotional and fun to follow. Sunkenland is a survival game with a post-apocalyptic scenario. Developed by Vector3 Studio, the game explores the idea of a world almost entirely covered by the ocean. Construct a stronghold on one of the few remaining islands, or choose to live out in the ocean. Though you will have to defend it against pirates, it will allow you to grow crops and craft equipment. However, the best items in the game cannot be crafted; you will need to explore underground ruins to acquire them. Filled with unknown dangers, these remnants of a bygone civilization attract many scavengers, but not many return from their expeditions. You will have to prepare carefully if you wish to survive. For the time being, Sunkenland is a Windows exclusive, though this may change as the game is still in Early Access. Project Lazarus is a bullet heaven game in a sci-fi setting. It was developed and published by Terapoly, a indie game developer. You play as a pilot of a mech landed on a hostile alien planet. Massive hordes of enemies are about to assault your location; thankfully, your suit has plenty of powerful weapons to defend against them. Guns, lasers, flamethrowers, missile launchers, you can equip them all – though not at once. Upgrades, such as new weapons, are gained when you level up your mech, but there’s only a limited amount of upgrade slots. So you will have to think carefully and pick upgrades that synergize with each other instead of simply grabbing everything. Typically, the game ends when you defeat a certain amount of enemy waves, but there’s an endless mode available as well. EA Sports FC 24 is a football simulation game by Electronic Arts. It is the latest game in EA Sports FC game series, which was previously known as FIFA. Almost half a century later, the substance resurfaces on the contaminated and devastated planet, and corporations and resistance groups return to fight over the dangerous resource. Players infiltrate the planet as independent mercenaries and find themselves in the middle of a multi-faction struggle. While the game is available on multiple platforms, there is no Mac version.
