Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a shooter game made by Rebellion Developments. In the game, the players will have to battle massive undead armies. Raised from the dead by Hitler in the previous games of the series, the zombies are now disorganized and weak individually, as the Fuhrer was sent to Hell and no longer controls them. Yet, their numbers are still beyond measure, and through these sheer numbers they still pose a significant threat to European countries. What’s more, a mysterious cult appears to have arisen, able to control them to an extent and thus organize them once again. As these rumors cannot be ignored, it is up to the player to investigate and neutralize the threat. Gameplay-wise, Zombie Army 4: Dead War is played from a third-person perspective. It can be player either solo or in co-op mode for four players. Many different weapons are present in the game, that can be further customized and enhanced, allowing for an even greater variety. These enhancements may occasionally veer into unrealistic territory – did you expect realism from a zombie game starring Hitler? – but are very fun. For example, there’s an upgrade that lets an assault rifle shoot lightning. And to top it off, the players themselves can take different traits to customize their gameplay even further. The game is available on Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. A bit of a problem for the Mac users out there. Merged in the lab of Keen Software House, Space Engineers is a videogame about construction and survival in space full of unexplored resources. In this game, players are given unlimited options to build their spaceships and other equipment to explore the limitless universe. Space Engineers is largely based on realistic mechanisms inspired by physics and modern spacecraft. It is what a future would look like with tons of new technologies and building techniques no one can bear in mind. You can participate in this whole adventure with up to 16 friends or fully alone. Both cooperative and competitive modes allow players to go in line with others or compete apart to fight off and survive. It is a truly interesting and ambient videogame giving a chance to show all of the creativity one has. Unfortunately, it is only available for Windows and Xbox platforms. Final Fantasy VI by Square Enix is a Japanese role-playing game set in a world that is industrializing, but also has magic. This choice of setting sets it apart from the previous Final Fantasy games, which tended to avoid technology and were more fantastic in nature, and the game’s plot does the game. Final Fantasy VI features a darker, more mature story than the earlier games – and that is a good thing. It is, after all, the reason the game is considered one of the stronger Final Fantasy titles, and, indeed, one of the best RPGs of all time. Another thing that makes the game stand out is its expansive cast of characters – the players eventually assemble a party of fourteen – larger than any other Final Fantasy title. It should come as no surprise that such an outstanding game received a number of ports and re-releases. Originally released in 1994 on the Super NES, it has since been ported to the PlayStation in 1999, to the GBA in 2006, and to Android and iOS smartphones in 2014. Finally, the game received not one, but two PC ports. The first PC port came out in 2015, and, although it’s been generally positively received, has also attracted some controversy. Many were displeased that the remaster abandoned the original’s pixel graphics style. In response, the game received the second PC release in 2022, featuring pixel graphics this time. Life is Strange is a graphic adventure videogame series split into episodes with an escalating plot. The entire series count 5 installments with the latest chapter Life Is Strange: True Colors released in 2021. All chapters are played in a third-view perspective where players solve various puzzles by interacting with objects located in the environment. This is accompanied by branching dialogues between other characters that decide the future events depending on how players build them. Some choices may have both short- and long-term consequences affecting the whole plot. Each chapter of Life is Strange offers unique gaming mechanics and plot development to keep players engaged throughout the whole journey. In 2022 developers made a remastered collection that includes all previously released content, but with graphical improvements, refinement of puzzles, and other interesting details making the game different from what players experienced before.
