BPM: Bullets Per Minute is a game developed by Awe Interactive. Self-described as “rhythm-action FPS”, the game blends these two radically different genres into a singular whole. The idea is both innovative and simple: the actions of your enemies are tied to the soundtrack, so you need to follow the rhythm yourself for the optimal gameplay.
Each playthrough, the game pits you against a procedurally generated dungeon. To win, you merely need to reach the end… but the task is harder than it seems. To explore and to mow down endless hordes of enemies is not enough. To escape, you will have to challenge a boss; but in order to do this in the first place, you will have to slay seven lesser bosses first. This means you will encounter eight unique, challenging boss enemies in total, in addition to all the different enemies that, too, can present a threat in numbers.
Not to worry, though! You will be given a powerful array of tools to tackle these challenges. Obviously, the game will provide you with many different weapons, but you can also gain abilities and equip items. You will not find all of them in any given playthrough, enhancing replayability.
